Territory Manager – HGV Finance Scotland – Up to c£55,000 + 25% bonus + car and excellent benefits
Our client a global HGV financier for whom we have placed many staff nationally and internationally over the last 20 years are seeking to hire a Territory Manager to take over responsibility for the management and further development a major dealer partnership head quartered in the central belt of Scotland.
You will inherit a performing relationship where our client are achieving finance penetration levels of 30% but are seeking to grow this to 35% , this should be eminently achievable as nationally across the UK they are currently achieving 44%.
You will work closely with the dealers senior leadership team and their sales staff to engender early and pro-active use of finance selling contract hire, HP and finance lease solutions to every type of customer from owner operators to larger fleets.
The role requires a consultative selling style but also to skills to convince the partners sales staff to encourage customers to consider our clients solutions and not just automatically defer to their bankers when told a deal is cash but later to invoice X.
Targets will be based on a combination of finance penetration , volume , income and value added solutions , we will be happy to disclose not only the target in terms of £ and the rates our client are going out to customers at to suitably qualified applicants.
The role needs someone who is willing to travel widely across Scotland and to a single depot in North East England to fulfil the role. We will be happy to the location of the various depots across Scotland and North East with suitably qualified applicants.
To apply you must live in Scotland and be based in the central belt, good access to Glasgow would be particularly beneficial but applicants based in Edinburgh will also be considered. We are not seeking applications from those based in the North East of England or any further north than say the Perth area.
Our ideally applicant will have either bank asset finance or captive HGV finance experience or both , but if the former we are seeking not only the skills to close a deal with a customer but also the skills to understand how to work with a dealer to gain the confidence of a sales team to bring you early into their sales process.
Knowledge of HGV financing would be particularly beneficial but other transferable hard asset finance class experience and transferable skills will also be considered.
We may consider applications from those who work today for major lease brokers who have good hard asset experience if you can demonstrate you can make the transition to a large company environment with all the process , procedure and occasional bureaucracy that working for a global companies entails.
We are not seeking application from F&I retail car people or business managers from retail car environments.
Whatever you precise background you will need to be an autonomous self starter as your line manager is based c400 miles from you , you must have the confidence to talk to a customer on deals that can range from £100,000 to possibly £5M or more dealing with everyone from an owner operator to the CFO of a major haulier
You must possess the ability to set and manage credit lines and be seen as a trusted specialist adviser well versed in contract hire , HP and finance lease solutions and with competent credit skills and some deal structuring skills.
Significant head office support will be provided to you but you will be face of our client in Scotland and thus you need the confidence , gravitas , presence and self starter approach to be a largely self managing success , albeit part of national team of territory managers.
Up to c£55,000 base ( maximum ) + 25% bonus plus company car excellent benefits.
